Academic Education and Experience
At present I work as a Research Projects Coordinator at London College of Communication (LCC) working on research strategy, in particular where enterprise and research intersect as well as digital and media convergence.
Previously I held a post-doctoral position as a research assistant for C4D, in 2010 for the Faculty of Design at LCC. C4D meant jointly working with colleagues at Cranfield University as well as extending research networks to other partners such as University College London, Department of Anthropology.
For almost ten years I have been a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design and New Media at University of Creative Arts, Epsom. Since 2004, I have been the Pathway Leader for the Foundation Diploma leading on design practice with theory as well as the annual lecture series of contextual studies (until 2009). I have taught all levels in the further and higher education sectors for almost ten years guest lecturing for the BA in fashion and music journalism at Epsom.
I will soon be teaching continual professional development – industry workshops for the design and media sectors at London College of Communication, University of Arts, London.
I gained a BA in Fine Art – Printmaking, at Newcastle University in 1999, and a Masters in Fine Art – Digital Print at Wimbledon College of Art, London (with AHRC funding) in 2001. I also gained a PGCE from Greenwich University for post-compulsory education in 2003. Before completing my part-time doctorate at Wimbledon College of Art, University of the Arts, London. I continued my professional development with attending a couple of modules from the MSc in Sociology of New Technologies and Documentary Analysis at Surrey University, as well as gaining credits in Deleuze, Technology and Ethnography, at IT University, Copenhagen.
Design Employment and Non-Academic Research
Previously, I have also worked in the design industry and in politics as an account handler in an advertising and design agency, (2000-1), and as a parliamentary monitoring researcher (1999-2002), Westminster. Prior to that I worked as an administrator for the audit department of Monsoon in 1999.
